Vintage Sterling Kachina Bracelet with Genuine Turquoise & Shungite Beads

This very special, one-of-a-kind bracelet features a fabulous vintage sterling silver and turquoise Kachina charm surrounded by links of genuine turquoise, black shungite, and sterling silver beads.

The shungite beads are 6mm rounds, and the turquoise are 6mm wide heishi of various thickness. The round granulated beads are sterling silver creations from Bali, and the wire is sterling silver as well. 

The bracelet closes with a very strong sterling silver magnetic clasp.

Turquoise is one of the oldest healing stones and considered one of the most powerful by many world cultures. Genuine turquoise is increasingly rare and difficult to find. You can read more about the gemstones .

What's a Kachina?

In the traditional religions of the Pueblo Indians of North America, a Kachina is one of a variety of ancestral spirit beings who interact with humans in various forms during traditional ceremonies or rituals.

I discovered this particular Kachina in my mother's very old jewelry collection - of all places! We lived in New Mexico during the 1960s - this is probably where she acquired it but I will never know for sure.

More About the Clasp

The bracelet comes with a sturdy, self-aligning Mag-Lok clasp, which is an extremely strong rare earth magnet. To open the clasp, SLIDE the two halves apart - DO NOT PULL (a thumbnail is handy to get it started).

Mag-Lok Cautions:

• Those with pacemakers should not wear the Mag-Lok clasp.
• Mag-Lok clasps should not be worn on the same wrist as certain types of watches because magnetism may cause them to gain or lose time. Analog quartz, spring drive, and mechanical watches may be adversely affected, but digital quartz are fine because they have no motor.
